Excellent write-up, thanks! I have envisioned him as a career minor leaguer/potential bottom 6 player, but this is promising!
Alex Appleyard
Thanks! Yeh, he has some intriguing tools and was impressive in the KHL. Fingers crossed he can reach his potential and maybe become a 2nd liner.

Great write up article.
Looks like DB has done another great job of finding another 3rd liner! Very good work by Briere. No doubt the strategic plan is to acquire more 3rd line prospects and have more 3rd line talent than any other NHL team! Clearly, it now is apparent the DB / Jonesy idea is that the more 3rd liners they have, the greater the chance they can win a Stanley Cup in the future. It is a fascinating approach to GM work by Brierre and Jonesy. Who needs first line talent, or even 2nd line talent when you can have up to twenty to thirty 3rd liners on the NHL roster or in the pipeline all at the same time? The more the merrier! No need for a 1-C, or a 1-D, or an elite goalie when fringe prospects in abundance can be more easily found. And they come much cheaper than superstars do, which allows DB and company to retain lots of salary on players traded to other teams, or to take back high salaries on over the hill players received back in trades, to fill out the minimum required cap space for NHL teams. Its genius!! After all, they have Torts as the coach, and if anyone can take a roster filled with 3rd liners and win enough games to keep them drafting in the 15 to 20 area every year, he can. After all, if the Flyers lose too much during this rebuild, and draft in the top five of the first round, it would become too visible, too obvious to the fan base that the Flyers have below average talent. Torts provides excellent camouflage for what the reality is about this roster. Impressive GM work. Go Danny!!!

A lot of words for crap sarcasm. Keep up the good work Bob.

Great points, Bob! Briere definitely should have held out for a bona-fide 1C in exchange for a 3C/4C.
See, other people can also be sarcastic.
Kevin Busby
So your assertion is DB should have held on to Laughton for a 1C or 1D. You’ve got to be a troll because your takes are beyond idiotic. I’m still laughing at you calling McDavid the Oilers 2C. Troll or not your pretty funny sometimes.
David Moore
Sarcasm that misses the mark, and factually incorrect. The flyers are currently sitting at 6th for the draft, not in the 15-20 range.
