Hi Charlie,
Enjoying your player reviews, great insight and thoughts as usual.
Aren’t there 96 first line slots in the NHL? 32 X 3 = 96?
How do you think the contract and Tippett’s game will play into his 30+ year old seasons, given that speed is amongst his strongest attributes?

Great article – I have always wondered about Tippett, so it was good to read some analytics about his performance.

My issue with Tippett, Farabee, etc isn’t so much with each of them individually but they paying 5-6 above average players 6-8MM a year doesn’t leave the Flyers with a lot of cap for a couple of stars and having a full roster.

I wonder what the tipping point is for being too balanced vs too top heavy.

If Tippet can get better at getting to high danger areas before shooting, he’d be a regular 35+ goal scorer. Can he learn that? We’ll see. To me, it’s the difference between him being a core piece and the quality middle 6 support piece I see him as now.
