Matthew Plishka
Phenomenal as always. Thanks guys!
Randy
Aside from the top 2, maybe 3, prospects, this is just depressing. A list filled with bottom half of the lineup players, at best. No hope of a 1C or 1D anywhere in sight, and how do you put together a package of bottom half guys to trade for one or both of those? Going back to bed, pulling pillow over head.
Michael Matteo
Great work guys. Disappointing to have such an average prospect pool when we have been mediocre for so long.
Jonathan Riendeau
Looking forward to reading on my lunch break
Matthew Segal
Charlie, your opinion, please, other than Porter Martone, do the Flyers have high end prospects in the pipeline? My opinion is no as I do not view players who will simply one day play in the NHL to be high end.
Charlie O'Connor
AuthorZavragin absolutely has that upside.
Matthew Segal
I can’t argue there, Charlie. I keep forgetting that Zavragin’s upside is definitely high end.
Vincent Lucchesi
Yikes. Whole lot of if everything hits they can be a bottom 6er or pair guy.
Jerrold Elkin
Concur with the previous observations, including thanks for the authors’ outstanding efforts. As a Flyers fan since their inception and therefore possessing a finite time horizon for their turnaround, this array of “talent” – in concert with the franchise’s alienation of Gauthier (or so I presume) – casts strong doubt on the judgment of the Briere, Jones and Flahr triumvirate, beginning with the retention of Flahr from the disastrous Fletcher regime.

At some point, Flahr’s job has to be in jeopardy, right?
guadzilla
The Flyers have been very good when it comes to FA signings and trades – a lot of unheralded pickups have worked out very well for them, from Sean Walker to Vladar, Zegras and Dvorak.
But of all the picks outside the top 10 in round 1 and in round 2, they seem to have focused on a safe floor rather than a high ceiling. Maybe one of Nesbitt/Luchanko/all the 2nd round picks from last year will develop into top line/pairing material, but based on this evaluation, that doesnt seem too likely.
Thomas Fisher
JFYI – Amico’s stats need to corrected (looks like Knuble’s stats were duplicated). I was about to be shocked if he was playing near a PPG pace.
Charlie O'Connor
AuthorFixed!
Michael Curran
Stanley Cup contention appears to be farther away then we hoped.
Ira Smith
What a depressing list of prospects. Zero stars . Only future star we ever had didn’t want to play in Philly.
Charlie O'Connor
AuthorThis is pretty overdramatic. And incorrect. Porter Martone at the very least is equal to Cutter Gauthier in terms of how they are/were viewed as prospects.
Bradford Boston
where’s Murchison?
Charlie O'Connor
AuthorJust missed.
Bob MCH
Martone, a 1-W, Zavragin a possible 1-G, and then nothing, a bunch of 3rd liners. Brutal prospect pipeline. It may soon be time to find a new GM and to move on from Flahr. No 1-C in the group, no 1-D in the group. Not even close. Not even 2-C, 2-G, or 2-D. Brutal.
Warren Broudy
I find it strange that Murchison isn’t high on this list ?
David LaVeck
Great analysis and details on these top 20 prospects, Charlie & Alex! The top 10 prospects are especially intriguing! Martone seems like a lock for the Flyers next season and Barkey is already there. Can’t wait for our Russian goalie in a few seasons!
