Is McDonald just Risto 2.0? Bad player that old school NHL guys love because he can crush people.

1. Risto has been turned into a pretty useful play-driving defensive defenseman by Shaw and Co. in a 4/5 role.
2. McDonald will be a lot cheaper, in terms of asset acquisition cost AND cap hit.
