If they keep him or extend him it is malpractice and a really bad sign for the future. If you consider his injury history and his performance history this is clearly a career year. It is a perfect opportunity to cash out and get draft picks and or prospects. Re-signing him now is betting on his career being better and healthier from age 30-34 then it was from 24-29. There is so much downside and so little upside for the Flyers and it should be obvious to them that this is the case. They should be clearing cap space and avoiding commitments right now and they seem intent on doing the opposite.
