Does too much stock get placed on a seven game sample size at the end of the year? It seems odd that someone could go from projected 20ish to top 5 because he had a strong 7 game stretch.

It DOES…but the reason is because it’s the last “best on best” type tournament before the draft so everyone is hyper focused on it.
If they are only left with Martin and O’Brien at 6…i’m kinda torn? Neither is going to be a 1C, and i’m not even sure there is one in this draft (unless McQueen stays healthy and hits his ceiling) since people keep saying Misa might even be better suited at wing. I’ve finally gotten scared off of McQueen at 6.

International tournaments always get a bit overrated projection wise.
The previous 2 domestic seasons to draft day are far better gauges of future success. And it makes sense! If you can do you make a decision off a 100+ strong sample size, or a sample size of 7…
