Philadelphia Union midfielder Jose Martinez and goalkeeper Andre Blake have been nominated for MLS Goal and Save of the Year awards respectively.
The league opened voting for the yearly awards on Monday, which featured two of the key members of the Union squad. Voting for both individual awards will close on Monday, November 6.
Martinez netted his first Union goal in style as Jim Curtin’s squad fought back to tie Orlando City 2-2 on June 21. The Venezuelan’s 90th-minute long-range missile helped erase a two-goal deficit at Exploria Stadium.

Andre Blake is known to make several key saves through the course of a season, but the Jamaican’s two-handed punch on Christian Benteke in August’s 3-1 victory proved crucial.
With the Union leading 3-0 at Audi Field, Benteke was teed up by Mateusz Klich at the back post. The Belgian’s powerful header was denied by Blake before the Union cleared their lines on a pair of additional shot attempts.
The Union would hang on for a 3-1 road victory thanks to Blake’s heroics.
