EDMONTON -- Perhaps Matvei Michkov's first goal with the Philadelphia Flyers was destined to come in this fashion, for better or worse.
The player that both the fans and the organization so desperately want to become the club's next superstar isn't lacking for high-end talent. One doesn't score 61 points in 74 games in the KHL as a teenager without some serious skill. He doesn't put up seven points in four NHL preseason games at age 19 without the ability to break down defenses, to baffle professional goalies, to deliver the kinds of maneuvers that will make him a mainstay on highlight reels.
