Three years ago, Nick Seeler nearly left hockey for good.
Burnt out and still yet to find a permanent place in the NHL, he agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with Chicago in January of 2021, and went back home to Minnesota. He was 27 years old, nearly past a hockey player's generally-accepted age-related prime, and likely wondering if his dream was on the verge of coming to an end.
"I’ve had conversations like that this past day or so, just thinking about where I was three years ago, not sure if I wanted to continue playing, and here we are today," Seeler revealed on Thursday.
