Phantoms gut out 3-2 win to sweep series against Penguins

ALLENTOWN -- After a huge win on the road to kick off their play-in series against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms brought things back home with the aim of replicating some of last year’s magic – pulling off a sweep of their division rivals to punch their ticket to the divisional semifinals.
And while they might have found themselves more bottled up throughout this game, the Phantoms did well to stick to their gameplan, lean on their goaltending, and strike when the space finally opened up for them, winning Game 2 and the series by a 3-2 final score. It wasn’t flashy, for the most part, but it was enough.
