Dave Dombrowski and his crew began the final weekend before the trade deadline by serving up a nice appetizer on Friday. They got the right-handed bat they’ve been looking for in exchange for a reserve outfielder whose place on the roster was tenuous and a veteran reliever who had fallen down the depth chart by falling behind too many hitters.
By the time the deadline arrives at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dombrowski and his crew will serve up the main course – the bullpen arm (maybe two?) that the Phillies need to take them into October.
