While it was important before, this signing of Soto by the Mets makes it imperative that the Phils go get Crochet from the White Sox, an ace lefty. Phils have to think short-series playoffs and how to counter the Mets. Soto batting left demands this. Plus, Nola as proven over and over again, he is a nice # 3 rotation innings eater, but is not an ace. He can pitch like one every fourth start, but that does not cut it in the playoffs. He reminds me of Larry Jackson for Phils from 1965 to 1967. Good not great. So, Phils should offer the Sox Bohm, Abel, and two of their prospects rated 6 through 10, for Crochet. If necessary, add a third prospect rated 6 through 10, or, shoot, even include Suarez if necessary. Hold onto Painter, Crawford and Miller. Give Sosa 3B for two months, put MIller in AAA, and bring the kid up in July to play 3B. Then Dombo needs to go get a power RH hitter to bat behind Harper. Perhaps Bregman. Should even consider moving Harper to LF as it is easier to find a replacement power bat for 1B. One strategy.
