Great trade, great addition. I was hoping they would get Crochet, but Luzardo works just as well for a much cheaper trade price. Getting a Lefty ace is huge when coming up against Soto and the Mets in a short playoff series, which they have to consider when building the 2025 roster. Huge move.
I wonder if getting Kepler, who is a gold glove right fielder, sets up another big move. Could they move Casty, Tai Walker, and say Abel as a sweetener for someone to take on Casty and Walker salaries, for a stud right handed power hitter for left field, or even center? Is that next? Not sure who that target would be, but there is another trade here to be made with the roster they are sitting with. Maybe Jim, you could throw out a what if article along these lines and give some potential right handed power hitters who might be available in such a trade? Great article Jim, keep them coming.

Same guys as at the deadline. Brent Rooker and Luis Robert Jr. This line-up NEEDS a power RH bat. Desparately. Those are certainly two, and with the proper trade pacage, could be obtainable.
Yes, castellanos, Walker and Abel would have to be the starting point for financial constraints. Which also drives the cost of prospects up. Caba is now moved (excellent trade) and Painter will not be moved. Aiden Miller? He may have to be the piece to make it work. As “win now” as we are and certainly should be, I’d pull the trigger. Both Rooker and younger, under team control beyond this season and fit this teams need exceptionally well. Marsh is a player who could be added in either move as well. Perhaps Ranger as well. Time to get creative.
