Coming off a disappointing showing against the New York Islanders, John Tortorella’s Flyers were back home for the annual Black Friday matinee against the New York Rangers.
There were early fireworks, including a pair of first period fights for Garnet Hathaway, but another slow start for Philadelphia was basically the story once again, as the Blueshirts came out prepared for a division rivalry game, while the Flyers looked like they were still weighed down by Thanksgiving dinner.
