The Philadelphia 76ers pulled off one of their more improbable wins of the season Sunday night against the visiting Portland Trailblazers, pulling away for a 109-103 win as the Sixers have improved to an astounding 11-3 on the second half of back-to-backs this season.
Playing without starters Joel Embiid, Paul George, Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr, Quentin Grimes picked up the slack with his first 30-point performance of the season. Justin Edwards added 21 for the Sixers, with VJ Edgecombe adding 18 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists, and Cam Payne scoring 11 off the bench.
Deni Avdija led the Blazers with 25 points and 9 assists, with former Sixer Jerami Grant chipping in with 20, and Donovan Clingan finishing with an 11 point, 15 rebound double-double.
