In their three-game homestand finale, the Philadelphia 76ers (15-21) fall to the New Orleans Pelicans, 123-115. The Pelicans (8-31) led at the end of each of the first three frames thanks to a balanced team effort that was guided by veteran guard CJ McCollum’s 18 points in the opening quarter. McCollum was amazing, finishing with a game-high 38.
Tyrese Maxey had a nice overall game for the Sixers finishing with 30 points, 12 assists and six rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to get the win for the home team. Paul George was in foul trouble in the first half with three personals that forced him to the bench — George ended the night with 25, a game-high 11 rebounds and five assists. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 21 and seven boards. Philadelphia will head to Orlando on Sunday for a matchup with the Magic.
The PHLY Sixers crew reacts to a frustrating defeat that ends the homestand with a 1-2 record.
