Strengthened by the returns of Joel Embiid and Paul George, the Philadelphia 76ers dropped a historic offensive performance on Josh Giddey, Matias Buzelis and the Chicago Bulls, winning 157-137 to improve to 40-33 on the season.
The Sixers dropped 51 points on the Bulls in the third quarter to put the game away, which is tied for the second highest scoring quarter in franchise history, and the most a 76ers team has scored since the 1960s. Joel Embiid finished the night with 35 points, six rebounds and seven assists in his return, with VJ Edgecombe adding 22 and Paul George 28 in staring roles.
The 157 points were the most the Sixers have scored in a game since 1970.
