The Sixers nearly became just the fourth team in NBA history to climb all the way back from a 35-point deficit when they cut New Orleans’ lead, once as high as 35, down to 100-95 with 45 seconds left to play before a dagger three from Herbert Jones killed the Sixers’ near-historic comeback. Even so, the Sixers’ strong second half play, led by Tobias Harris, Cam Payne and Kelly Oubre Jr turned what was once a depressing night into a source of optimism.
