Is there concern that new management is once again in love with a Risto type when that was a big mistake under Fletcher? Obviously, they drafted him later than the first (among other things) they used to get Risto but still interesting considering he didn’t make the top 20.

Given the Gauthier situation, do you think the Flyers may consider trying to get Kaplan on an ELC this summer to not wait, have him breakout, and then be just one season away from post-college free agency status?
Obviously a different caliber of prospect and profile, but would imagine this has to at least have been discussed or will be as his college season ends.

Sorry – one more thought. I know you hinted that you would be providing more insight on Hunter McDonald soon, but could you give us any input on a few forward prospects who didn’t make this list? I guess I’m thinking specifically about Gendron, Bump, and Wisdom. Do you consider any of them to anything beyond (longer shot) NHL hopefuls?

AuthorBump barely missed the list. I think he has pro upside to be sure, though he’s a bit of a boom-or-bust type.
I still hope Wisdom can put it back together and return to the form that made him such an intriguing prospect in 2020-21. But it’s getting tougher to imagine it happening. This was a big year for him and he’s kinda flopped.
