The New York Mets entered this National League Division Series as one of the hottest teams in baseball and they got a little hotter – and likely a lot more confident – as they handed the NL East champion Phillies a demoralizing 6-2 setback in Game 1 of the latest version of Red October at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday.
