CLEARWATER, Fla. — Seeing Aidan Miller and Cole Hamels working on the sun-splashed fields of Carpenter Complex is a reminder of something they have in common, a lucky break for the Phillies, you could say.
Miller, the club’s top position-player prospect, is in big-league camp for a taste of what it’s all about. The 20-year-old shortstop will begin the season in the minors, probably Double-A Reading, but it shouldn’t be long, a year or so, maybe, before he’s back as a pillar of the next wave of great Phillies.
