The sun came out and the temperature warmed. A sold-out crowd of 44,595 traded in their winter sweaters for short sleeves. All they wanted on the day the Phillies came home to Citizens Bank Park was a reason to paaaar-tay.
Brandon Graham gave them one. He carried the Lombardi Trophy in his left hand and threw out a ceremonial first pitch with his right. “You can’t put that thing down,” Bryson Stott marveled later in the day. “That was sick.” Saquon Barkley also tossed a first pitch. The crowd went nuts and delivered a rendition of Fly Eagles Fly that made the house shake.
