Rob Thomson’s injury update before Monday night’s game was longer than Donald Trump’s necktie. On and on it went, from J.T. Realmuto to Alec Bohm. Rafael Marchan, who is feeling better and just about ready to get back in the lineup after battling a minor shoulder injury at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, even made the list.
Thomson didn’t mention Bryce Harper, at least in the context of health, but the issue is there, as plain as the black compression sleeve that has been covering his sore right elbow and wrist for a few weeks. Harper hit .364 (8 for 22) on the Phillies’ recent road trip and has nine doubles — should be 10 — in his last 17 games. Not too shabby. Missing from his recent work, however...
