Saquon Barkley thought about 2,000 yards before the season — 2,000 all-purpose yards, not 2,000 rushing yards. And then he started playing for the Eagles, and he realized he did not need carry the entire offense. They need him to run the ball.
After a few weeks, when Barkley stacked 100-yard rushing performances, the elusive 2,000-yard club creeped into his mind. “Oh wow,” he thought. “This is something I really can accomplish.” Even more, his offensive line wanted it.
