Unpacking the Sixers' trade deadline — why they did (and didn't) make moves

It has been an ugly few weeks for the Sixers, with Joel Embiid's meniscus injury derailing what had otherwise been a feel-good, high-performance season in Philadelphia. The Sixers have quality wins over many of the would-be contenders — the top three seeds in the West, not to mention the league-leading Celtics — and that fact has not mattered much lately while they've been hammered by good and bad teams alike.
On the surface, they have more questions and fewer answers coming out of the deadline. The question, of course, is why? Here's a look at what was out there, and why the Sixers ended up where they did.
