THE BAHAMAS — The convention center ballroom at Atlantis in Nassau hardly screams, "Basketball mecca." But the Sixers' journey toward contention begins here on October 1, as Nick Nurse tries to get his new-look roster on the same page for the long journey ahead.
Spotted along the sidelines and on the floor were some hoodies emblazoned with the same slogan: "The ball wins." It is, as Nurse explained it to reporters on Tuesday, a sort of rallying cry for the team heading into the season, and a reminder of what's most important for this group at the start of Sixers training camp.
