The flexibility gained, and lost, by the Sixers' trade deadline moves (so far)

The Philadelphia 76ers have made a couple of moves ahead of Thursday's 3 pm trade deadline, shipping Caleb Martin to the Dallas Mavericks for Quentin Grimes and a 2031 2nd round pick, then turning around and sending KJ Martin and a pair of future seconds to the Detroit Pistons.
The pair of moves have given the Sixers a young player in Grimes, an upcoming restricted free agent who could be a key part of their guard rotation if they're able to lock him into a new contract this summer, and helped them get under the luxury tax for the 2024-25 season, at the expense of some future flexibility down the road.
