The first reaction from most online-active Philadelphia Flyers fans on Tuesday morning upon hearing that pending UFA netminder Ivan Fedotov had indeed signed a the rumored extension that locked him into the team's NHL goalie tandem for next season was: Great!
The second? "Wait, for how much?"
A source confirmed to PHLY Sports that Fedotov and the Flyers agreed to a two-year, $6.5 million contract with a $3.25 million yearly cap hit, and the Flyers themselves announced it in mid-afternoon. The Fourth Period's Anthony DiMarco and TSN's Darren Dreger initially reported the details.
