The Philadelphia Flyers rightfully believe that they'll have an opportunity to draft a potential impact player with the 12th overall selection in the NHL draft later this month.
That's just the way the draft board is expected to shake out.
Macklin Celebrini, of course, is the consensus top prospect in the draft and is a cinch to be selected by the San Jose Sharks at No. 1. But after Celebrini, there's a second tier consisting of about 12-13 players that all fall in the same general talent range. They're not locks to be stars, like Celebrini is perceived to be. But they're all high-end prospects with the potential to become top-of-the-lineup, core players at the NHL level.
