With the trade deadline less than a month away, it's important to remember that prospects are tradeable.
It is very easy to get attached to a certain prospect, convincing yourself that they are the next homegrown star and that you don't want to give them away. For me, a 36-year-old, I was put to bed with the sins of the past such as the Ryne Sandberg and Ferguson Jenkins trades. You know, trades in which the Phillies organization gave up future Hall of Famers for forgettable pieces that did not help the Phils with a parade down Broad Street.
