The Philadelphia Union selected three players in Tuesday’s 2024 MLS Draft.
Forward Stas Korzeniowski, forward Zachary Bohane, and goalkeeper Francesco Montali became the latest members of the Union franchise after being selected by the club. Korzeniowski was selected with the No. 53 overall pick, Bohane was chosen at No. 63, and Montali was drafted at No. 82.
The 20-year-old Korzeniowski appeared in 50 matches at the University of Pennsylvania. He scored 20 goals and registered 15 assists during his time in the Ivy League, earning First-team All-Region, Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, and First-team All-Ivy League honors, among other credentials.
Bohane played two seasons at Stanford University, totaling nine goals and 13 assists in 35 appearances for the Cardinal. A crafty midfielder, Bohane featured for De Anza Force prior to his collegiate career, playing in the MLS Next U-17 Playoffs.
Montali spent time at both Florida International and Boston University. During his three years at Boston, Montali registered 19 clean sheets in 47 appearances for the Terriers. He registered a 0.99 goals-against-average (GAA), earning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors twice.
The Union will begin their 2024 preseason in January ahead of CONCACAF Champions Cup involvement in February against Deportivo Saprissa.
