The roller coaster that is a baseball season parallels the ups-and-downs and twists and turns of that ride in so many ways, and the Phillies have certainly given baseball thrill-seekers their fair share of joy and trepidation.
Trepidation might be an understatement as to how fans are feeling now of the team that has lost nine of its last 10 games, including the recent three-game sweep in Pittsburgh where the Pirates won all of those games by scoring a grand total of nine runs.
